With traditional memory design the memory signals are often distorted by electromagnetic signals from other components, making the system perform slower or become unstable. MSI introduces DDR4 Boost technology with optimized traces and fully isolated memory circuitry. This design ensures the memory signals stay pure for optimal performance and stability.

Looks good and performs for cheap1/25/2017 6:22:02 AM
Pros: A good looking, fully featured, and well performing board on the cheap
Cons: Driver package comes with a bit of bloatware.
Could do with some more USB 3 headers

Very good board for the price10/15/2016 6:43:00 PM

Pros: Looks beautiful.
Bios looks nice as well.
Bios looks nice as well.
Cons: Drivers installation includes some bloatware. There's a very appropriately named Killer Network Manager that does just what it says--it kills your connection ...even after you uninstall it. Resolved the problem after looking on forums, but overall, my impression was shock that MSI would allow such horrible software to be bundled with their product.
Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: Apart from many features which are quite comparable with other new Gen6 chipset motherboards, here's what I found outstanding with this mobo...
HARDWARE
- Future proof as it some of the latest features and an optional Turbo U.2 header.
- M.2 PCIe at 10Gbps which allows Gen3 Turbo M.2 (up to a ridiculous 32Gbps, if you have such SSD going that far...), or SATA 3.0 (up to 6Gbps, but if you use that M.2 port you don't want this 'backward compatibility'), and is compatible with Turbo U.2 headers for future SAS SSD up to 32Gbps.
- Has strengthened PCI Express slots for those huge and heavy Graphics cards out there, with reinforced heavy soldered connections
- Although not listed in MSI's memory compatibility list, the ADATA XPG Z1 8GB (2x4GB) Model AX4U2133W4G13-DRZ works splendidly well with this motherboard.
- Has a brand new UEFI BIOS with optimizations for Windows 10
- Cool looks...
SOFTWARE
- Offers CPU-Z with a nice customized GUI
- Unlimited RAMDisk app for free (Fatster disk access at the speed of RAM memory - count in nanoseconds instead of milseconds)
- Gaming Hotkey app allows you to customize any key on your keyboard (up to 8 steps macro programming)

Cons: 1- Not really a con, but after doing some tests with USB... Don't get confused like me: this motherboard actually offers USB 3.0, not the newest USB 3.1. In fact, The USB-IF organization announced that USB 3.0 connectors capable of 5Gbps (SuperSpeed) would now be classified as USB 3.1 Gen 1 (this mobo). While the new USB 3.1 connectors, capable of 10Gbps (SuperSpeed+) would now be classified as USB 3.1 Gen 2.
2- Only one USB 2.0 header! Hence, 2x USB 3.0 headers (or another which is 3.0) would have been nice for those front panel expansions e.g. multi-card readers, unless you sacrifice your chassis front panel USB ports - many devices don't require USB 3.0 speed. I've removed one egg because of this, although it's a personal issue and I knew about it before hand (I already have a PCIe x1 card with a USB 3.0 19 pins header thus it's not such of an issue, but it occupies one PCIe slot).

Other Thoughts: Simply put, USB 3.1 Gen1 is USB 3.0 plus all of the changes that have been made to USB 3.0 over the years. According to the USB-IF's documents, these changes include 'added performance boosts to meet requirements for USB storage, display and docking applications,' as well as USB 3.0 Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)
Overall, a great motherboard at the correct price point.
Overall, a great motherboard at the correct price point.
Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: Good solid motherboard. Booted up just fine on the first go. Cheaper than Z170 boards by a small bit.
Cons: Bios boot order tool could be easier to use. Downloading the driver package off the MSI website ended up installing a metric ton of bloatware (Don't press the complete package button it will install bloatware not even on the list and everything checked or not).
Other Thoughts: Good board for those not looking to overclock.
Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: Should last a long time with upgrades
Cons: The Killer Nic is horrible. If you fail to install the suit that comes with the motherboard the bandwidth control will be active no matter what you do until you install the suit and turn it off. Worst part was that it would kill all surfing etc and lord do not have more than one game running.
Other Thoughts: Good board bad Nic.....
Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: M.2, ALC1150 Audio, Enough Connections, Nice Looking, & affordable.
Cons: I can't really include include things like 'no overclocking!' with it being an 'H'-series board.
Nothing really stands out for a Sub-$100 mobo.
Nothing really stands out for a Sub-$100 mobo.
Other Thoughts: Needed a fairly basic board with M.2 and decent audio iteration. Got it for $90, fired an i3-6100 right up, no compatibility issues with G.Skill RAM and Sandisk X-Series M.2 either.
Overall solid.
Overall solid.
Stable, worked perfectly with minimal effort.12/28/2015 7:21:12 PM
Pros: A large number of options in the bios. Board is stable and reliable without any tweaking. Great looking red colors that aren't too tacky looking. Plenty of ports and config options. Instructions were clear and easy to understand for installation.
Cons: None that I can think of yet.
